PACKHORSE ROCKED TO ITS KNEESPosted on Jun 02, 2008Punters were turned away at the door as the first act, Nylon 66 got underway and melted the hearts of the crowd with their seductive indie grunge charm, complemented by some lovely vocal melodies. The catchy tunes stroking the crowd into a mild frenzy as a perfect firestarter!!
Next up, the beast that is Luva Gunk. As these guys walked on stage to their astonishing intro, the 200 strong audience went totally crazy as the tight, fast funk grooves and great 2-part guitar work took to the skies and landed with all 4 wheels onto a crowd which was virtually puking with excitement by the end of this tremendous set. Finally, as the excitement had grown to boiling point, Doric Arch entered the arena and shook the room with some stupendous acts of musical dexterity, shaping songs in their funky rock style like a pack of non-human entities. The 3 part harmonies and tight, punchy bass lines and guitar work resolved into a cracking finale with the throng now bursting to the brink of unconciousness - as the night came to a dramatic close.
